NEW: Changes to Unit 1 Funds
Unit 1 CFAF - Fall 2025 Expenses
During the last round of bargaining, the Employer agreed to:
provide a Child Care Benefit Plan for Unit 1 members to replace the Childcare Financial Assistance Fund (CFAF) currently administered by the Local, and
form a joint working group to determine the design of the benefit plan. (Here is the The Child Care Benefit Plan Memorandum of Agreement resulting from the working group!)
The first year of the employer-administered benefit plan will cover expenses incurred on or between January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026. Recognizing the gap in coverage between September 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025, the Local will administer a final CFAF round to cover the Fall 2025 term.
The proposed terms and criteria for the Fall 2025 disbursement will be presented to the Unit 1 membership for approval at the next Unit 1 Membership Meeting.

2025-2026 SWAF Disbursement Timeline
Beginning in 2026, there will be one round of applications for all 2025-2026 SWAF applicants.
Applications for BOTH Groups A and Group B will be open from August 1 to 30, 2026.
