Unit 3 Health Benefits Survey
During our last round of bargaining, health benefits were one of our top priorities. We fought for that at the table, and as a direct result of our organizing, your bargaining committee reached an agreement to form a Joint Working Group on Employee Health Benefits!
This group, consisting of Unit 3 members and University representatives, has a mandate to design recommendations for a new, improved health benefits plan for Unit 3 members to replace the current Health Care Spending Account (HCSA) with a deadline of May 1, 2026.
The University would prefer to keep your benefits as limited as possible, but you have already made a major gain: your collective action in maximizing your last year’s HCSA usage has directly increased the budget for a potential new health plan and forced a higher budgetary commitment from the Employer. This is what our solidarity can achieve.
Your representatives on the Joint Working Group have been working tirelessly meeting and negotiating with the Employer for a plan that reflects the unique needs of our Unit.
