Cross-Local Multisite Letter to UofT

On January 21, 2026, CUPE Locals 1230, 2484, 3261, and 3902, the unions representing over 10,000 employees at the University of Toronto, called on the employer to restart multi-site Joint Health & Safety Committee Terms of Reference negotiations.

A multi-site agreement would create a new and unified Terms of Reference for all joint health and safety committees across the University. However, after more than a decade of fragmented and closed one-on-one negotiations imposed on unions by the employer, CUPE campus unions have joined together to demand a joint table for an open and inclusive approach to resolving the longstanding issues still in dispute.
