Unit 8 Bargaining Info Session
This Info Session provides Unit 8 members with additional opportunities to discuss the Bargaining Platform with members of the bargaining committee. The Bargaining Platform will be sent out to members on October 20, one week before the Unit 8 Membership Meeting, at which point members will vote on whether to endorse it.
The Bargaining Platform is a document that outlines the key priorities for this upcoming round of bargaining. The Unit 8 bargaining committee has been hard at work reviewing members' responses to the bargaining survey, where they shared their experiences and goals for improving their working conditions.
At this Info Session, you can meet the Unit 8 bargaining committee, hear about the responses to the bargaining surveys, and help shape the priorities in this round of bargaining. Your voice matters. Help the bargaining committee fight for the best possible collective agreement for Research Associates and Senior Research Associates!

CUPE School 🍂 Fall 2026!
It’s that time again! CUPE 3902 School is back this fall, October 27 to 29!
First launched in 2024, CUPE 3902 School offers members an opportunity to learn, share ideas, and develop advocacy and organizing skills, while strengthening the your union community.
Various sessions run from 10:00am to 5:00pm. Space is limited, first come, first serve basis!

Unit 8 Membership Meeting
Join fellow Research Associates and Senior Research Associates for a discussion about our bargaining priorities, as we get ready to negotiate our first ever collective agreement. Cast your vote on the Bargaining Platform - your voice matters!
The Bargaining Platform is a document that outlines the key priorities for this round of bargaining. It will be circulated to members on October 20. It reflects the issues identified by Unit 8 members in the bargaining survey.
Your bargaining committee has been hard at work analyzing responses to the bargaining survey. Unit 8 members shared their experiences, concerns, and goals related to their working conditions. With this information, the bargaining committee has identified top priorities and is now ready to hear from the membership.
At this meeting, your bargaining committee and bargaining support committee will walk you through your co-workers’ responses to the bargaining survey and highlight the key issues that you and your co-workers are experiencing. All Unit 8 members are welcome!

Unit 1 Membership Meeting
Join your fellow workers for a discussion about our collective bargaining priorities, and cast your vote on the Bargaining Platform!
Unit 1's current Collective Agreement expires on December 31, 2026. Your coworkers and bargaining committee have been hard at work through the summer; more than 800 members have completed the bargaining survey, while your bargaining committee has read through the current Collective Agreement, conducted sector research, and reviewed your and your coworker's priorities through the bargaining survey.
At this meeting, your bargaining committee and bargaining support committee will walk you through your co-workers’ responses to the bargaining survey, and highlight the key issues that you and your co-workers are experiencing.
All members of Unit 1 are invited to attend to then vote on your bargaining platform, which will set our priorities for the upcoming negotiations!

Unit 5 Info Session: Postdoc Teaching
Some postdocs teach courses at UofT and therefore are members of both Unit 5 (internally funded postdocs) and Unit 1 (graduate students and postdocs who teach).
The Unit 5 bargaining surveys showed that many postdocs are feeling overworked but also that many are eager to gain more teaching experience. In this info session, the Unit 5 Bargaining Committee will review current CA language to outline the context of postdoc teaching, discuss different approaches for this round of bargaining, and get feedback from Unit 5 members about their own experiences related to postdoc teaching to inform our bargaining proposals.

Intro to Steward Training
What does a steward do? This introductory workshop will guide you through your responsibilities as the first line Union Representative in your department and advocate for worker's rights!
This training is mandatory for new stewards. You will not have access to organizing funds unless this training is completed. Registration is mandatory, spots are limited!

Unit 3 Advancement Workshop
Advancement season is coming up again for Unit 3 members!
Whether you are planning to apply by August 15 for advancement in the fall , sometime in the future, or are just curious about how it all works, please join us. We are offering a workshop to explain the advancement July 14 at 1pm.
We'll go over the formalities of the advancement process and of course, answer any questions you may have. For those who cannot attend, a recording of the workshops will be provided.

Unit 7 Membership Meeting
Unit 7 Membership Meeting on Wednesday, June 24th from 2 to 4pm at OISE, Room 3312 and on zoom.
The objective of this meeting is to discuss potential changes to the Unit 7 financial assistance funds (linked below), as well as new recommendations around hiring criteria for Group B GAships recently agreed with the Employer.

U5 Bargaining Platform Meeting
Come to help make sure our new contract reflects your needs, and those of all postdocs!
This is a General Membership Meeting for Unit 5 (the postdocs), where we will discuss and vote to adopt a platform for our next contract bargaining. This is our chance to shape what we fight for at the negotiation table!
Last round, our engagement helped secure a historic 38% increase to the minimum postdoc salary and major improvements to benefits. Winning again will take the same kind of collective participation – all of us, together, both now and throughout bargaining.
