Nominations for General Vice-President and Chief Returning Officer closed at the General Membership Meeting on Monday, March 20th, 2023. 

The position of Chief Returning Officer was acclaimed. Congratulations to Madeleine Link on your new role!

Contested Position: General Vice-President

The position of General Vice-President received multiple nominations. Therefore, an election will take place electronically. The candidates are: 

  • Andrea Roman Alfaro
  • Leila Azimian

Election Date

The election for General Vice-President will take place electronically through SimplyVoting on Thursday, March 30th, 2023, and polls will be open between 9 AM and 7 PM.

How to Vote

Voting will take place by electronic ballot using SimplyVoting. A ballot will be sent automatically by email to all eligible voters at 9 AM on March 30th. It is possible that this email will arrive in your other or junk folder, so please check these folders if you do not receive your ballot in your main inbox.

Voter Eligibility

Members registered as political members by March 28th at 6 PM will automatically receive a ballot. If you do not receive a ballot and believe that you should have received one, email by 12 PM on March 30th.

You have political membership if you have done bargaining unit work within the past 12 months and you have signed your Union card. If you’re not sure if you have, log in to the Member Portal and check that the field labelled “CUPE No.” has a value.
