Friends, look for an email about the A.G.M. this Thursday, April 22nd at 2-5 PM, containing a Zoom link to register, as well as the agenda for the meeting. Please register as soon as possible to give our Staff time to confirm your membership and approve your registration. The same Staff will help in other ways once the meeting is underway, so be sure to do this well in advance. You will receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link as soon as your registration has been approved.
We have a lot on the agenda for the meeting. Here are some highlights:
- We’ll be receiving our end-of-year financial report for 2020-21 and considering our budget for 2021-22.
- We’ll also be electing our next Chief Returning Officer (C.R.O.) and closing nominations for Executive Officer, Equity Officer, and Trustee positions for the 2021-22 year. Nominations for Officer positions have been open since 15 February and notice has appeared in the Newsletter throughout the term. Email nominations to Giorelle Diokno, our Chief Returning Officer, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Finally, we’ll be hearing reports on a number of important topics, including bargaining in most Units, possible by-law revisions, and the latest health and safety issue at the University: Legionella has emerged as a serious public health issue on campus, in part due to the reduced occupancy of university buildings and resulting reduction in water usage. Before the meeting, there will be a drop-in Q&A on the 2021-22 Budget from 1-2 PM. If you have questions about the budget but can’t make this time, email Mahdi Zamani, our Secretary-Treasurer. We’ll be using the same Zoom link for the Q&A as for the A.G.M.
