SLA 100 Y  - ELEMENTARY RUSSIAN (HALF OF THE COURSE, FALL TERM)

 

Course Description: The basic features of the grammar: Acquisition of essential  vocabulary for practical conversation and for comprehension.  Development of reading and writing skills.  (May not be taken by students who, in the judgement of the Department, qualify for entry into SLA220Y1)

 

Estimated Course Enrolment: 30

Estimated TA Support:  70 hours

Class Schedule: MTWRF 9

Dates of the Appointment: September 11, 2007 - December 30, 2007

 

 Please note the position includes the completion of any course grading not finished by December 30.

 

Salary: $6,275 for Sessional Lecturer I, $6,775 for Sessional Lecturer II

 

Qualifications: M.A. degree in Russian Language, some teaching experience.

 

Note:  Graduate students who are currently registered in a Ph.D. Program at the University of Toronto and post doctoral fellows are members of CUPE 3902 Unit 1 and are not eligible to apply for this position

 

Brief Description of Duties:

Teaching the SLA 100Y elementary class: planning and setting goals for course, preparing for classes, teaching in class, designing and administering tests and quizzes as appropriate, providing students with adequate feedback, taking responsibility for the course.
