JOB POSTING – SESSIONAL LECTURER
CSB344H1S – Comparative Endocrinology of Invertebrates
This course examines the importance of neurohormones and hormones in the regulation of reproduction, growth, metamorphosis and metabolism in arthropods, especially insects and crustaceans, mollusks and other invertebrates.
Estimated course enrolment: 60
Estimated TA support: 1 x 70 hours
Schedule: Wednesdays, 6-8 p.m.
Sessional dates: Jan 1st, 2008 – April 30, 2008
Please note: The position includes the completion of any course work and grading not finished by April 30, 2008.
Salary: $6,275 (Sessional Lecturer I) Minimum Salary
$6,775 (Sessional Lecturer II) Minimum Salary
Qualifications:
* Demonstrated excellence in teaching
* PhD in Comparative Invertebrate Physiology strongly preferred
* Prior experience teaching this or similar course at the University level
Please note: Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement rather than the Unit 3 collective agreement, and should not apply for positions posted under the Unit 3 collective agreement.
Description of duties:
* Preparation and delivery of lectures
* Supervision of teaching assistants assigned to course and paid by University
* Preparation, supervision and grading of tests and examinations in accordance with University regulations as described in the Faculty of Arts & Science Academic Handbook

CSB350S – Laboratory in Molecular Plant Biology
Laboratory methods used in plant molecular biology research. Topics include vector construction, plant transformations, PCR, DNA blots, high-throughput screens, genetic mapping, and bioinformatics analyses.
Estimated course enrolment: 52
Estimated TA support: 2 x 140 hours
Schedule: Mondays, 10-12, Wednesdays 9-12.
Sessional dates: Jan 1st, 2008 – April 30, 2008
