EMERGENCY JOB POSTINGS FOR SESSIONAL LECTURER

2007-2008 ACADEMIC SESSION

The following job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement.

First term

PHL 271H1F, Law and Morality, MWF 10-11 a.m.

Justifications for the legal enforcement of morality; particular ethical issues arising out of the intersection of law and morality, such as punishment, freedom of expression and censorship, autonomy and paternalism, constitutional protection of human rights.

Sept. 1 to Dec. 31, 2007.

Estimated Enrolment: 200

Estimated TA support: 360 hours

Salary: $6275 (Sessional Lecturer I) $6,775 (Sessional Lecturer II)

Qualifications: PhD in philosophy is preferred, but applicants who have completed all the course work requirements for a PhD in philosophy will also be considered. We are seeking previous experience in teaching, teaching excellence, and mastery of subject area. Previous experience in teaching a similar course is highly desirable.

Duties: Preparation and delivery of course material; supervision of teaching assistants; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, and examination; marking of student; work; submission of grades to university official; reasonable student contact hours.
