Course Number and Title: ITA233Y1 Ethnicity and Mainstream: Italian Canadian Culture
Course Description: An examination of the Italian presence in Canada from time of John Cabot (Giovanni Caboto) to the present through an analysis of literacy and other texts and a consideration of sociological and linguistic phenomena. (Given in English).

Sessional Dates: September 1, 2007 to April 30, 2008
Classes run September 10, 2007 to April 11, 2008
Final examination period April 21, 2008 - May 9, 2008
Please note that the position includes the completion of any course work and grading not completed by April 30.
Salary: Sessional Lecturer 1
September 1, 2007 $12,550 (includes vacation pay)
September 1, 2008 $13,000 (includes vacation pay)
Qualifications: PhD in Italian Studies and related teaching at the university level.
Description of duties: The instructor will be responsible for creating all tests, exams, and assignments in the course. This includes the design, preparation and delivery of course content, including teaching lectures or seminars. Holding regular office hours for student contact outside of scheduled classroom hours.
