JOB POSTING SESSIONAL LECTURER

DTS200Y1 Introduction to Diaspora and Transnational Studies

Course Description: An interdisciplinary introduction to the study of diaspora, with particular attention to questions of history, spatiality, globalization, cultural production and the creative imagination. Material will be drawn from Toronto as well as from diasporic communities in other times and places.

Estimated course enrolment: 80

Estimated TA support: 140 hours

Schedule: 10-12, Fridays

Sessional dates: September 1, 2007 to April 30, 2007

Please note: This position includes the completion of any course work and grading not completed by April 30, 2008.

Salary: $12,550 including vacation pay (SLI); $13,550 including vacation pay (SLII)

Qualifications: PhD in social science or humanities subject with a focus on diaspora and transnational topics.

Description of duties: Collaborating on the tri-campus course design; teaching on the St. George campus; marking of scripts in collaboration with TAs, office hours.
