Dates of Appointment: September 2007 - December 2007 (Actual work will extend to the end of December). Applications are also considered for either the first or second half of the course.
Description of Course: The financial decision-making process including the financing, investment, and dividend decisions of the firm. Institutional aspects of finance, with emphasis on the characteristics of various debt and equity instruments available in Canadian capital markets. (26L)
Position Description: All normal duties related to the design, administration and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; supervision of teaching assistants; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and examinations; calculation and submission of grades to university officials; holding regular student office hours and maintaining reasonable availability for student contact. This course is co-coordinated by Professor Raymond Kan and instructors will work under his direction.
Minimum Qualifications: Preferred qualifications are a graduate degree with a specialization in Finance. Doctorate (finished or in progress) in finance or economics preferred. Professional experience an asset. Previous experience in teaching a similar course is highly desirable.
Salary: $12,550 (per full course or 1.0 FCE) or $6,275 (per half course or 0.5 FCE)
Anticipated Enrollment: 60/section
Minimum TA Support: 0.75 hours/student enrolled
