Pursuant to the terms of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement, the Department for the Study of Religion, Faculty of Arts and Science is advertising a course for a 20-day period.

Subject to budgetary approval and staffing considerations, the Department for the Study of Religion, University of Toronto invites applications from individuals interested in teaching the following course(s) during the 2005-2006 academic year.

Applicants should provide (1) a current curriculum vitae, and (2) evidence of teaching ability (e.g., summarized course evaluations, letters of reference, etc.). Duties: Include presenting two hours of lectures a week; grading papers and exams (including make-up examinations if required); and other pedagogical and administrative tasks associated with an undergraduate course.

Stipend: The stipend for a full course is $ 11,500 and $5,750 for a half course for Sessional Lecturer I and $12,500 for a full course and $6,250 for a half course for Sessional Lecturer II

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Religious Studies, or equivalent; competence in the specific teaching area required; teaching experience in religious studies is desirable.

The date of appointment for a full year course is from September 1 to April 30, September 1 to December 31 for a Fall course and January 1 to April 30 for a Spring course.
