ADDITIONAL SESSIONAL POSITION WINTER SESSION 2005-2006

This is to announce the following unanticipated vacancy in Philosophy on the St. George campus. This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement.

PHL 375S, Ethics, TR 12-1:30

An intermediate-level study of selected issues in moral philosophy, or of influential contemporary or historical works in ethical theory.

Jan. 1-April 30, 2006

Salary: $5750 (Sessional Lecturer I) $6,250 (Sessional Lecturer II)

Qualifications: PhD in philosophy is preferred, but applicants who have completed all the course work requirements for a PhD in philosophy will also be considered. (Note: Graduate students who are currently registered in a PhD program at the University of Toronto are members of CUPE Local 3902 Unit 1, and are not eligible to apply for this position.) We are seeking previous experience in teaching, teaching excellence, and mastery of subject area. Previous experience in teaching a similar course is highly desirable.

Duties: Preparation and delivery of course material; supervision of teaching assistants; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, and examination; marking of student work; submission of grades to university official; reasonable student contact hours.
