Course title: JIE 222Y: The Study of Environment

Course description: The foundation for students in the Division of the Environment and the Innis College Environmental Studies Program. Draws from relevant environmental domains in an examination of environmental degradation, the responses of various actors, and models for a more sustainable society.

Estimated enrolment: 150

Course title: INI 499S Environmental Activism

Course description: The course integrates theoretical and practical aspects of environmental activism.

Estimated enrolment: 10

Estimated TA support: none

Class schedule: Spring term, Mondays, 10:00 - 12:00

Sessional dates of appointment: Jan. 1, 2006 - April 30, 2006

Salary: Salary will be a minimum of the stipend rate for a Sessional Lecturer I of $5,750 for a half course.

Qualifications: PhD or equivalent experience in study of social movements and lobbying, previous experience teaching a similar course is highly desirable.

Duties of sessional lecturer: revise syllabus; arrange required readings; deliver weekly lecture or arrange guests; hold office hours; evaluate student performance
