All members of Unit 1 who held an appointment of at least 30 hours in the bargaining unit during the relevant entitlement period, and who have dependent children, are eligible to apply to the Childcare Assistance Fund, and can receive up to $1,000 per dependent child.

The deadline for the Childcare Assistance Fund for September 1, 2007 to April 30, 2008 has now passed.

All childcare claims that fit the Canada Revenue Agency’s definition of “child care expenses” will be eligible for claims (including playschools, after-school programs, day camps, etc, as long as the child is under 16 years of age).
