- Dental Plan
- If you are a registered UofT student or a post-doctoral fellow (or were at the time you were hired as a TA, student instructor, lab demonstrator, etc) and you WILL work a minimum of 50 hours in the bargaining unit between September 1, 2007 and August 31, 2008, you are entitled to a $500 dental rebate. You can go to the dentist at any point during this time period, even after you have stopped working!
- Health Care Spending Account (HCSA)
- If you are a registered student or post-doc with a teaching appointment of 50 hours or more, the University will provide $300 that you can use for any medical expenses, including additional dental expenses, vision care, and prescription drugs.
- Childcare Assistance Fund
- All members of Unit 1 who held an appointment of at least 30 hours in the bargaining unit during the relevant entitlement period, and who have dependent children, are eligible to apply to the Childcare Assistance Fund, and can receive up to $1,000 per dependent child.
- Tuition Assistance Fund
- To be eligible for the Tuition Assistance Fund you must be a member of CUPE 3902 - Unit 1, work a minimum of 30 hours between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008, be registered as a student in a programme that is not and has not been part of the funded cohort, as defined by the UofT, and have tuition set at a rate higher than the basic minimum fee. Those eligible will be primarily in the professional Masters programmes. Undergraduate students are not eligible for the fund.
- Financial Assistance Fund
- The deadline to apply for the 2007-2008 Financial Assistance Fund has now passed. Notice to all applicants, successful or unsuccessful, will be mailed as of the middle of March 2008; and cheques for those eligible will be distributed in April 2008.
