Equity Working Group Mission Statement
We are an equity and diversity working group. As per the motion to create a Working Group on Issues of Equity and Diversity (passed at the May 2008 General Members' Meeting), we have a specific mandate to suggest revisions to the Local's equality statement and to make recommendations for improving the Local's equity practices.
We are not a decision-making body. We are a temporary working group that examines policies and practices of the Local and the University. We are gathering information, have three scheduled meetings between June - October 2008 and in the current form this working group will dissolve at the General Members' Meeting in October 2008.
